A9m Furling Genoa

Jeckells furling genoa for an Achilles 9m, about the size of the originally specified #2 Genoa.

In Dacron with UV strip on starboard side (so furling line take off to port), camber lines, leach line and tell tells. In a zipped "Launch bag" as shown in the pic.

It has had about one seasons use (it was new when I got the boat) before being replaced by a seriously expensive 150% deck scraping genoa in "VEKTRON" and a heavy weather Dacron jib.

A new sail of this size from e-sails (By Kemp discounted c 20% for "measure your own" sails) would currently cost about £1,150.

Location Bicester or Hamble.

£450

    1. Hi Simon, Yes it is. I have not measured it, although I could give it a go, but looking at the "official" sail plan I believe it is about the size of the original #2 genoa, as you can see above the tack is a little above the deck and furling gear, the clew is also somewhat higher than a #1 and a bit further forward. The #2 spec was 247 sq ft / 22.9 sq m. I suspect must 9m's are using one of about this size for ease of handling etc., I must be a bit of a masochist! There is an email address above, drop me a mail if you want me to try a measurement (not that easy to be 100% accurate in doors!). John
